Even the greatest fiction writer couldn’t fabricate the events of this year. I’ve traveled from Philadelphia, to Germany, France, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Scotland, New York City, and Northwestern Pennsylvania. I’ve met friends from far away lands and had some run ins with old friends as well. While abroad I danced inthe streets of Mainz for Fasching, went to mass at Notre Dame, ate a hot dog in Denmark, got gas in the Czech Republic, hit a man in Scotland, partied on the Reeperbahn, and bought my dad and I matching hats on the edge of the Bavarian Alps.
And after all those adventures, dearest 2010, the story has just begun. I go to North Carolina this weekend, I will be graduating college on the 21st, leaving my job at the bank on the 24th (new one starts January 10th), celebrating Christmas with my family, visiting friends from Germany on the 27th, and I’ll be hitting the road again on the 28th: Hamburg, Germany bound! Of course with a crazy layover in London.
Oh 2010, I will be more than pleased to ring in the new year in the place that I began this monumental decade: in Germany. Happy New Year, I’m going back to Hamburg.
