Needs to be done often in Germany. Things are cheap, but they are also in small proportions. For instance, a package of cheese will be about 0.49 Euros, but there’s only about 10 slices in it.
So since nothing significant happened today lemme tell you about the grocery stores here in Germany.
It’s kinda expensive because it’s gourmet products. It’s also the only place in town that carries Brown Sugar. I guess Brown Sugar is considered gourmet?
(C-) you too expensive REWE
A smaller grocery store. It’s a close and convenient place to pick up the essentials. Eier (eggs), Brot (Bread), Milch (Milk).. oh and ice cream. It’s decently priced.
HEAVEN! Best grocery store in Germany. Best prices. I did all my grocery shopping for 18 Euros. I bought so much food. It should last me a while since it’s just for me.
(A+)So much food for the best prices. Sehr Preiswert! (very cheap)
Food Co-op has been disbanded. It was just way too much food shopping too often and not enough people were helping to go pick up the food at the grocery stores. On top of that, most people have been really good about keeping the kitchen clean, but there’s two girls at the end of the hall who go out partying every night and then they come home very late and make pasta and just leave their plates and their mess everywhere. I have named them the “Pasta Phantoms”.. The dorm thinks its hilarious.
Review of grocery shopping overall:
Well, the ladies who ring you up at the register, the Verkäuferin, they actually go to school to be trained for a job that they all suck at. Here’s where they go horribly wrong: they sit down at the registers all day, and they scan your products very quickly and throw them all down a very short conveyor belt where there is no one to bag to you as well as no bags. That’s right, you have to buy your own bags. So I’ve been brining my own, but to no avail. Today one of my bags broke and the Kauferin did nothing to help me.. She just kept pushing my food aside. And when she was done, she just started ringing up the person behind me (luckily it was a friend who helped me pick up my stuff).
Verkäuferin (EF) epic fail.
